'Myths of the Game'

Dec. 13, 2020

Good morning Mill Creek Little League Families,

I wanted to send everyone a note this morning to check-in and let you know we are still meeting as a board and discussing our upcoming season. We are continuing to meet with District 1, reviewing the state guidelines, and staying up to date with Everett School District. Normally at this point we would have opened registration and opened up coaches applications, we are delaying these activities until we have a better idea of when fields will be open.

I would like to wish you and your families a Happy Holiday season and I can't wait to see all of you in 2021!

RT Shaw
President, MCLL

Dear Mill Creek Little League Families,

Your MCLL Board has been working hard behind the scenes planning, preparing, and reviewing all of the new guidelines Little League International has proposed to return to safe play. Unfortunately, we feel our league will not be able to comply with all of these new guidelines and still be able to execute a successful and enjoyable Little League spring season. Our goal was to provide a safe environment for all participants, but at this time we can't guarantee with 100% certainty the health and safety of our players, coaches and many volunteers. With heavy hearts, we have decided to cancel our spring season. We have sent separate emails to all registrants regarding refund timing.

I want to immediately call-out that we are planning to have a 12 year old celebration in August. Stay tuned for the date and details!

Keep playing catch, hitting off the tee, running & stretching, because while I won't be seeing you on the diamond as soon as I had hoped. I am hopeful we will be able to open registration again for a late summer/early fall season. More details to come!

Stay safe,

RT Shaw
President, MCLL

Good Evening Mill Creek Little League Families,

On behalf of myself, and the executive board members, we want to let you know that we are still exploring all possibilities of what a 2020 Little League Season could look like. The executive board is meeting daily, consulting with our neighboring leagues and doing our due diligence to get as many questions answered prior to releasing a more official announcement.

We believe that the very few requests for refunds (<1%) is an indication of our community's desire to participate in and support Mill Creek Little League this summer in whatever capacity it looks like. Please know we are working hard to formulate multiple plans and exhaust all options that will, hopefully, allow us to see you all on the diamond this summer.

Thank you for having patience with us as we do our best to navigate this new terrain.

Good evening Mill Creek Little League families,

In case you have not seen the below email from Little League International, it is now recommending we postpone our season until May 11th. I was able to meet with our Executive Board this evening and, while we are disheartened by the news, the positive side is that we should all expect to be playing in warmer weather during our upcoming season. As of right now, our plan is to have all divisions & levels begin the week of May 11th with most of our younger divisions continuing to play into the month of July. For those players who are interested in playing All Stars, we will adhere to any and all revised eligibility rules LLI provides to us.

I would like to thank those who helped take down the fences at Freedom Field this weekend. The reason we took the fences down was to ensure they stayed in good shape for the upcoming season.

I will continue to be in constant contact with Little League International, and District 1, and will share all updates I receive. Please review the note below from Little League International.

I look forward to seeing all of you on the diamond soon.

President, MCLL

Hello Mill Creek Families,

In case you did not receive the email or see the post from Little League International (LLI) we will be suspending ALL Little League activities until April 6th. As I mentioned in my email last night, we will follow the governance of LLI and so all games (even those scheduled for tonight) will be postponed. I will continue to meet with our Executive Board and District Presidents for any changes or updates to the situation, but as it stands we will be following suit. I have already voiced my opinion that we need to have a plan for post-season All Star Tournaments and will continue to work with D1 and LLI to make sure that our All Star eligible players are not affected by this suspension.

Best regards,

RT Shaw
President, MCLL

While each community is being affected differently by the coronavirus, we feel that it is in the best interest of our volunteers and participant families to delay the implementation of the Little League season to begin no earlier April 6. Learn more:

Pets and Trash
The ESD has been kind enough to let us use their fields, however they would prefer we not use their garbage cans and dogs are not allowed on school fields. Also, the City of Mill Creek has informed us that trash is being left beyond the outfield fence at Freedom Field. Parents, if your children play out there during games, please keep track of their disposables.

Sunflower Seeds
As a reminder, shelled seeds are not permitted at Freedom Field (they damage the turf and are extremely difficult to remove).

Please be respectful when parking in neighborhoods and try to avoid blocking yards, definitely not driveways or mailboxes.
