TOC Champions

The Mill Creek White Sox (Majors BB) are the TOC Champions!

The White Sox did it in an amazing come from behind fashion, trailing Pacific 8-1 in the second inning before rallying to an 11-9 victory. Every player on the team contributed to the victory but fortunes were definitely turned in our favor by a 2-run double from Colton Matter. What an amazing game, tournament, and season!!

Congratulations White Sox!

Mill Creek faced a tough Pacific team in their first game of the District 1 tournament and lost 6-5. Mill Creek worked their way through the losers bracket beating Sky Valley and Lake Stevens to get another shot at the Pacific team. Mill Creek got off to a great start and scored 6 runs early but Pacific battled back with 5 of their own. Mill Creek didn't let up and scored 11 runs total winning 11-8, forcing a second Championship game the next day. Mill Creek's pitching was on fire and shut down Pacific in the first inning. Pacific's pitchers returned the favor, but couldn't keep Mill Creek's bats quit for long. Mill Creek scored 10 runs in the 3rd inning and kept Pacific from scoring, ending the game in the 4th inning 10-0! Mill Creek is the District 1 Champions!! On to STATE!!

Thunder Win Monfiletto Invitational

Mill Creek Thunder Softball team wins the 1st annual Tony Monfiletto Invitational
over a tough Marysville team 8-7.

The score went back and forth all game. Mill Creek was the home team and Marysville was up 7-6 in the bottom of the 6th. Some timely hitting and some great base running by Mill Creek, put the tying run on 3rd and the go ahead run on 2nd. A past ball scored the tying run, runner on 2nd advances to 3rd and a perfectly laid bunt scores an aggressive runner sliding into home for the winning run! Great job girls!!!

A huge Thank You goes out to South Snohomish Little League for a great tournament!!!!

2013 MCLL Volunteer of the Year

The 2013 Ed Lundberg Volunteer of the Year Award recipient is Keith Cottingham. Keith is being recognized for his service to the league. Here are some quick facts about Keith's service to the league:

  • Keith has been an MCLL Board member since 2009, and a Coach at multiple levels of Baseball and Softball since 2007.
  • In 2012, Keith oversaw a successful Softball program that sent MCLL's first ever Softball State Champion to San Bernardino, CA. This was MCLL's first Softball State Champion since 2006, and it's first State Champion team of any kind since 2008.
  • Before Keith took over the softball program in 2010, MCLL had never before fielded three Softball All Star teams in the same year. Under Keith's Leadership, MCLL has now fielded three Softball All Star teams each year for three straight years (2010-2012) - a remarkable accomplishment.
  • In 2012, two of the MCLL's Softball All Star teams won District Championships in the same year - another first for MCLL.
  • On top of his duties as VP of softball in 2012, Keith also managed to help coach a Majors Softball team AND a Juniors Baseball team.

Keith has been an outstanding leader for MCLL. Keith's many years of hard work have allowed MCLL to build a highly successful softball program that resulted in a State Championship in 2012.

They came back the next night, played their hearts out, left it all on the field and came away with a 10-7 win and a state championship! These girls of summer will be traveling to Tucson, AZ for the Western Regional tournament beginning August 1 vs. Utah!!
