Letter from the President

Dear Mill Creek Families,
I hope all of you have been doing well and staying healthy during this unprecedented time. For those that did not know, there have been some updates to the Healthy Washington - Roadmap to Recovery plan that affect youth sports. In the most recent revision, Snohomish County is now grouped with King & Pierce counties and, together, we're the "Puget Sound Region." There are now two phases that regions will be placed in based on their most recent Covid numbers.
- Phase 1 - our current phase, "moderate risk" youth sports, such as softball and baseball, are allowed to practice outdoors. Everyone, including players, must be masked at all times.
- Phase 2 - we will be allowed to play games. Again, everyone, including players, must be masked at all times.
Given this new guidance we are actively planning and hoping for a 2021 season but everything depends on state and LLI guidelines and approval. We have an opportunity to provide safe, outdoor, activity with peers that our kids have been missing during in-person school closures. Our renewed focus this season will be on fun, inclusion, and giving our kids a positive outlet and opportunity to grow and succeed. We will hold regular practices for the duration of Phase 1 beginning after tryouts and will begin games when it is allowed.
We will be opening registration soon, hopefully as soon as February 1st! We're in the process of updating our registration software and website. In the coming days you will receive an email from the new system with a link to sign up. (If you don't see an email from MCLL in the next week please check your spam folder.)
- We are planning to open registration with a Phase appropriate payment plan based on field reservations and time allowed on the field, then our second Phase when games begin.
- Please join us as a volunteer. You can register as a volunteer at the same time as you register your players. We need umpires, managers, coaches, team coordinators, parent helpers, and more.
The season may look different but we're committed to providing a safe, healthy, outlet for our kids. Our Return to Play Plan, which details the safety precautions we're putting in place as a league, will be available on our website for your review prior to registration. Once you receive your invitation to the new site please review this information and reach out if you have any questions.
Hope to see you all soon!
