Willis Tucker - Langsea Lights - Ready for Action

"Snohomish County is pleased to announce that the Willis Tucker Park Ballfield Lighting Project is now complete, bringing evening play capability and enhanced accessibility to Field 2 at Willis Tucker Park.
The project, carried out in collaboration with Mill Creek Little League and the Washington Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) included full installation of six ballfield light poles and associated site restoration for Field 2. This project was made possible through the support and contributions of:
Musco Lighting — donor of the lighting system
Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office Youth Athletic Facilities Grant Program — $302,500 in grant funding
Mill Creek Little League — essential local partner and facilitator (Chris Langsea)
“Our parks and sports fields are used throughout the year, whether we’re in the long days of summer or the early sunsets in winter,” Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers said. “I’m proud that Snohomish County can offer brighter, safer access for youth sports and year-round healthy activity at the Willis Tucker Park Ballfields.”
“The ballfield lighting upgrade to Willis Tucker Park is a great addition for our community,” said Snohomish County Councilmember Jared Mead. “I am thankful for the partnership between RCO, Snohomish County, and the Mill Creek Little League for bringing this project over the finish line. The partnership is a great example of how community groups can work together for the benefit of all.”
“We are excited for this project that will help serve the need for athletic fields in Snohomish County” said Sharon Walker, Division Director, Snohomish County Parks & Recreation. “By adding lighting to an existing field, we are able to expand usability of this already popular field. This project represents our commitment to safe and vibrant recreation for residents of all ages — and it would not have been possible without the generous support and collaboration of our public and private partners.”
“RCO is thrilled to have contributed to this project,” said Megan Duffy, RCO director. “Investing in recreation provides so many benefits to so many people. Not only do we give people a place to enjoy but they can improve their health, connect with other people and reduce their stress. And the money they spend to buy bats, balls, snacks and more helps local businesses. Snohomish County did a fantastic job. But that is nothing new. Snohomish County Parks & Recreation has received nearly 70 grants from RCO, worth more than $36 million in the past nearly 60 years. They are a great partner and do quality work. The improvements will help make this park a great place for this community for decades to come.”
